Is an AliExpress parcel under MAD 1,250 exempt?
No. Since 1 July 2022, purchases on an e-commerce platform are taxed whatever their value. The MAD 1,250 exemption only covers occasional shipments between private persons, with no commercial nature.
Does shipping count in the customs value?
Yes. Shipping, loading, handling and insurance up to the entry into Morocco are added to the price paid, so duty and VAT also apply to them.
Is the result exact to the dirham?
It is an estimate: the customs assessment prevails. Customs may use another tariff code or its own exchange rate.
