🏷️ For online sellers, before Black Friday or the sales

🏷️ Profitable promotion calculator

Before Black Friday or the sales, check that your promotion stays profitable: margin per sale before and after, maximum discount, how many extra sales you need, and a comparison of discount, bundle and free delivery. Built for cash on delivery, works in every currency.

The calculation is the same in every currency: only the display changes. The suggested values are just examples, replace them with your own.

How it works: the formulas

The ad cost per delivered order is assumed to stay the same during the promotion: one piece of advice above shows the effect of an increase. Everything is calculated in your browser; your values are kept on this device only.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my Black Friday promotion will be profitable?

Compare the margin each sale leaves you before and during the promotion, counting delivery, returns and advertising. The calculator works out how many extra sales you need to earn as much as in a normal period. If that increase is higher than what your past promotions brought, the offer is risky.

Why does a 20% discount need far more than 20% extra sales?

Because the discount comes out of your margin, not your price. A simple example: an item sold at 100 that costs you 70 in total leaves you 30. With a 20% discount it only leaves you 10, so you need three times as many sales, i.e. 200% more, to earn the same amount.

Is a bundle or free delivery better than a big discount?

Often, when delivery, returns and advertising weigh heavily: a bundle shares them across several items in a single parcel. But it is not automatic. The “Compare offers” table does the maths with your figures and the advice points to the offer that needs the fewest extra sales.

Why plan a different delivery rate during the promotion?

A strong offer can attract more impulsive orders, which some customers then refuse on delivery. It does not always happen: look at the delivery rate of your past promotions and test several values. Every refused parcel costs packaging and return fees and brings in nothing.

Why count advertising per delivered order?

With cash on delivery, only delivered orders bring in money. If you know the cost per received order shown by the ad platform, divide your spend by the number of delivered orders to get the right figure. The COD profit calculator does it for you.

Are my figures saved anywhere?

No, nothing is sent to a server. The values you enter are only kept in your browser, so you find them again on your next visit. The calculator works for every country and every currency.
