🎓 Moroccan Bac average calculator
Work out your overall Moroccan baccalaureate average (regional 25%, continuous assessment 25%, national 50%), your mention, your pre-selection score and the national exam mark you need to reach 10, 12, 14 or 16.
Your marks out of 20
Your continuous assessment and regional marks are on your transcript (Massar). You do not know your national mark yet? Leave it empty: the table below tells you what to aim for.
Enter each subject with its mark out of 20 and its coefficient (shown on your exam notice or transcript). The weighted average is the sum of each mark times its coefficient, divided by the sum of the coefficients.

What mark do I need in the national exam?
Based on your regional and continuous assessment marks, here is the minimum national exam mark for each goal.
| Goal | Minimum national exam mark |
|---|---|
| Enter the regional and continuous assessment marks. | |
Simulate the resit session
In the resit session you retake every national exam subject. For the national exam, the better of your two marks (regular or resit session) is kept; the regional and continuous assessment marks do not change.
Enter your resit mark to see your new average.
How is the Bac average calculated in Morocco?
The overall average of the Moroccan baccalaureate combines three marks: the regional exam taken at the end of the 1st Bac year (25%), the continuous assessment of the 2nd year (25%) and the national exam at the end of the 2nd year (50%). The formula is therefore: (regional × 1 + continuous assessment × 1 + national × 2) ÷ 4.
Each mark is itself a weighted average: every subject has a coefficient that depends on your stream. The Bac is awarded with an overall average of at least 10/20, provided you do not have 0/20 in a national exam subject.
Mentions
| 10 – 11,99 | Pass (Passable, مقبول) |
| 12 – 13,99 | Fairly good (Assez bien, مستحسن) |
| 14 – 15,99 | Good (Bien, حسن) |
| 16 – 20 | Very good (Très bien, حسن جدا) |
These are the usual mention thresholds; only your official transcript is authoritative.
Who takes the resit session?
- Candidates whose overall average is between 7 and 9.99 with no eliminatory mark.
- Candidates with an average of at least 10 but a 0/20 in a single national exam subject.
- Candidates absent for force majeure or with a medical certificate (in that case the better-mark rule does not apply).
- Below an average of 7, the candidate fails with no resit.
The school pre-selection score
For the pre-selection of most public post-Bac institutions (engineering schools, ENCG, medicine…), continuous assessment is not counted: generally 75% of the national mark and 25% of the regional mark are used. Some institutions apply their own formula: always check the competition notice.
